SafeGuard is a community safety information platform operated under the laws of England and Wales.
By accessing or using SafeGuard ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hale Technology Limited ("we", "us", "our") in accordance with the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the Service, in accordance with Section 9 of the Data Protection Act 2018. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

You retain ownership of the content you submit (descriptions, notes, reports). By submitting content to SafeGuard, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Service.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you submit. Location reports must be based on genuine, good-faith observations. Deliberately submitting false reports may result in account termination and may constitute an offence under UK law.
We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, is inaccurate, or is otherwise inappropriate. We are not obligated to monitor all content but may do so at our discretion.
SafeGuard exists to help communities share factual information about accommodation placements. All users must:
SafeGuard is a community-driven platform. We do not independently verify the accuracy of user-submitted location reports. Information on this platform should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision or action. We provide the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
SafeGuard is an information platform only. In an emergency, always contact the police on 999. For non-emergency concerns, contact 101 or your local council. This platform does not replace, supplement, or interact with any emergency service.
Nothing on SafeGuard constitutes legal, safety, or professional advice. If you have specific safety concerns, please contact the appropriate authorities.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to Section 8.1 below:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The SafeGuard name, logo, website design, and original content are the property of Hale Technology Limited and are protected by UK copyright law under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our proprietary content without express written permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if:
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@pinkwatch.org. Upon deletion, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hale Technology Limited, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email where practicable.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have additional rights under the laws of the country in which you reside.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
